TAIPEI, Sept 3 - Taiwan stocks opened 0.3 percent higher on Thursday, with AU Optronics leading technology shares higher after the island's top LCD maker said it was considering setting up a new panel plant in China.
The main TAIEX share index opened up 20.89 points at 7,060.66, a near three-week intraday high.
AU Optronics shares rose 1.37 percent, while the optoelectronics sub-index gained 0.86 percent.
