WASHINGTON, Sept 2 - The United States is pushing for an agreement among Group of 20 nations on the thorny issue of giving emerging market countries greater voting power in the International Monetary Fund, G20 sources said on Wednesday.
The issue will be discussed by G20 finance ministers in London this weekend and followed up at the leaders' summit in Pittsburgh on Sept. 24-25.
"The Americans are pushing for at the very least a statement on the subject in Pittsburgh, even if it is not resolved," a European G20 source told Reuters.
