TAIPEI, Sept 1 - Taiwan stocks rose 2.84 percent, chalking up their best gains in more than two months to end at a two-week closing high on Tuesday, led by shares of tech heavyweights such as Hon Hai, which reported solid quarterly earnings.
The main share index finished 193.8 points higher at 7,019.75, logging its strongest close since Aug. 14 and best single day percentage rise since June 24.
Electronics parts giant Hon Hai shot up 6.76 percent, pushing the electronic sub-index 3.49 percent higher.
