TOKYO, Aug 28 - Japanese auto parts maker Akebono Brake said it is in talks with Germany's Robert Bosch to buy part of its brake business in North America.
An Akebono spokesman said the company wants to make a decision by the end of 2009 whether it will buy assets from Robert Bosch. He did not elaborate on exactly which businesses it was in talks to buy.
Akebono, a maker of brakes, generated about 54 billion yen ($575 million) in sales in North America in the last business year.
Robert Bosch, the world's largest supplier of automotive parts, owns 11.3 percent of Akebono Brake.
