Ex-Goldman partner raises $2.5 bln fund - sources

HONG KONG, June 24 - Mount Kellett Capital Management, a private equity firm run by former Goldman Sachs partner Mark McGoldrick, has completed raising around $2.5 billion for its first fund with focus on Asia, especially China, said sources close to the matter.

The Asia-focused firm, which McGoldrick launched early last year, had initially targetted to raise about $5 billion. McGoldrick is nicknamed 'Goldfinger' for his surname and his reportedly massive bonus payout.
