WASHINGTON, June 2 - The World Bank on Tuesday approved an additional $500 million to expand an existing fund to help developing countries prevent and control outbreaks of influenza, including the new H1N1 virus.
"The money will top up an existing $500 credit line the Global Program for Avian Influenza Control and Human Pandemic Preparedness and Response (GPAI) set up in January 2006," the World Bank said in a statement.
