TOKYO, May 25 - Japan's Nikkei share average rose 0.2 percent on Monday, helped by drugmakers and other defensive stocks.
The benchmark Nikkei added 20.14 points to 9,245.95, after falling 0.4 percent on Friday. On the week, it inched down 0.4 percent.
The broader Topix gained 0.3 percent to 878.48.
