TAIPEI, April 10 - Taiwan stocks opened 2.07 percent higher on Friday to a fresh six-month high, with contract PC maker Compal leading tech stocks higher after it reported better-than-expected first quarter shipments.
The main TAIEX share index opened 117.10 points higher at 5,784.90, further boosted by Wall Street's more than 3 percent rally.
Compal rose 2.32 percent, while the broader computer and peripherals sub-index advanced 2.36 percent.
