O-I manufactures coated glass bottle for Snow Grouse

O-I has introduced a coated glass bottle for the launch of Snow Grouse, a new Scotch whisky from the makers of The Famous Grouse. The Edrington Group (TEG) has designed the Snow Grouse to be drunk at room temperature. The bottle retains the tall, angular shape of The Famous Grouse bottle. To create an etch-effect finish, water slide transfers and masks are applied, and the bottles are then disk-coated using organic paint. The bottle also has a printed ROPP long-skirted closure from Guala. Angela Spink, packaging technologist, Edrington Group, said that the bottle was the result of a ''great collaborative effort'' between the production and engineering departments and suppliers.
