The King of Lighting

The idea of building the King of Lighting was first brought up in 1999 and was finally approved after 8 years of argumentation and planning. It would be built at the north of East Dongxing Road in the downtown area of Guzhen and would become the only oillamp-shpaed building with classical European style in the world upon its completion. It will be 331.8 meters high and have a construction area of 127,000 square meters. With an estimated investment of 1.5 billion RMB, the building would become an important landmark of Guzhen Town, Zhongshan City and even the Pearl River Delta. Functioning as the center of tourism, sightseeing, amusement and catering, the King of Lighting will have a lighting museum, western restaurants, places of entertainment, high sightseeing tower and revolving hotel rooms inside it. It will fully represent the flourishing lighting industry of Guzhen and the spirit and humanity of the town as well.
