FRANKFURT --German carmaker Daimler AG (DAI.XE) may eventually sell lithium-ion batteries to third parties as well, a member of Daimler's Board of Management said in Handelsblatt in a preview to Monday's edition.
"On the medium term, sale to a third party is possible," Thomas Weber is quoted as saying in the daily.
Daimler and German industrial conglomerate Evonik Industries AG announced in December that they will team up to jointly develop and produce lithium-ion batteries for electric cars.
