BURLINGAME, Calif. -- Tony Mayo is no monkey. The executive coach can, however, teach you how to properly peel a banana.
Mayo's 30-second video is one of more than 100 submitted to "Teach Me Fast," an online video contest sponsored by Forbes and Instructables.com. The contest is part of Forbes' annual e-Gang story package and will stop taking submissions on Thursday, Sept. 13.
This year's e-Gang focus was on the Web's new video stars. Users are going bananas over our idea to allows readers to be the star--and not just over the bananas themselves, through there are three separate entries on the subject. (There's one on peeling an orange too.)
Contestants like "egbertfitzwilly" are hedging their bets by teaching across a broad range of subjects. That user has posted a video on how to spend a Sunday, instructions on making lemon sorbet and an easy way to make fruit zest.
If citrus isn't to your taste, don't fret. User "OPTRICE" has submitted a recipe for a summer drink that you might be sweet on: milk, syrup and ice.
Not feeling the foodies? Don't let others' culinary bent sour you. Plenty of users are pulling from their specific domains of expertise, focusing on areas like green living, bicycle repair and zombie films
We'd like you to think big. Our only rule is that it be instructive and teach a lesson in 30 seconds or less. Good entries can be as simple as how to properly shake hands.

Be sure to check out all the contest entries to see what you can learn. You'll be able to vote for your favorites too.
But don't forget this quick lesson: The contest ends soon, so if you have something to teach and want to win a Flip MinoHD, you better get teaching--and fast.
