Qatar low-sulphur condensate output seen up 50,000bpd

Published: 04 May 2010 21:56:34 PST

SINGAPORE, May 5 - Qatar's low-sulphur condensate production will rise to 50,000 barrels per day (bpd) to 160,000 bpd in first-half 2011 when the joint-venture gas-to-liquid (GTL) project with Royal Dutch Shell starts up, an official with Tasweeq, said on Wednesday.

Adel Al Rumaihi, marketing manager for condensate with Tasweeq, or Qatar International Petroleum Marketing Co, said the low-sulphur condensate is becoming more popular because its quality has improved with mercaptan content.
