MELBOURNE, Oct 23 - Australian conglomerate Wesfarmers Ltd <WES.AX> said on Friday that first-quarter food and liquor sales at its Coles supermarket chain were up 7.3 percent in total and 6.1 percent on a same store basis.
The company also said in a presentation to investors that there had been encouraging progress on the renewal strategy at Coles. Customers will still cautious however over interest rates and rising petrol prices.
