Nippon Oil, Iraq agree on Nassiriya oil field-Kyodo
Published: 24 Aug 2009 17:00:22 PSTTOKYO, Aug 25 - Japan's Nippon Oil Corp and partners have obtained a basic agreement to develop Iraq's huge Nassiriya oil field, Kyodo news said on Tuesday. The group and Iraq have signed a memorandum of understanding, the report said.
A senior Iraqi oil official said earlier that the Nippon Oil-led group and partners are "very close" to winning the contract after a deal was reached on financing.
