Russia says needs closer ties with OPEC, gas club
Published: 18 Feb 2009 18:01:57 PSTYUZHNO-SAKHALINSK, Russia, Feb 18 - Russia needs to strengthen its cooperation with the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) and the club of top gas exporters, Russian President Dmitry Medvedev said on Wednesday.
"We must cooperate more closely," he said. Medvedev travelled to Sakhalin island on Wednesday to open Russia's first liquefied natural gas plant.
