SEOUL, Nov 17 - SK Group's unlisted construction unit, SK Engineering & Construction Co (E&C), said on Monday that it and two partners had won a $600 million order from the Laotian government for a power plant.
The consortium with Korea West Power Corp, one of KEPCO's power generation units, and Thailand's Ratchaburi will build and operate a hydro power plant for 30 years and then transfer the operation to the Laotian government.
The builder said the consortium would seek investors to fund the project, with construction projected to begin in 2010.
