Taiwan, China Direct Shipping Links To Be Tax-Exempt - Report
Published: 04 Nov 2008 22:12:04 PSTTAIPEI --Taiwan and China agreed that earnings generated by shipping companies using direct links across the Taiwan Strait will be exempt from business tax and income tax, the Commercial Times reported Tuesday, without citing sources.
The vice-chairman of the Taiwan Straits Exchange Foundation, Kao Koong Lian, said Monday that China will open 63 ports for direct shipping links, while Taiwan will open 11 ports.
