KraussMaffei Berstorff: foam slab line for China

The German Gesellschaft für Technische Zusammenarbeit (GTZ) GmbH, is for the first time making possible the supply of a KraussMaffei Berstorff Schaumtandex line for manufacturing XPS foam slabs to a Chinese XPS manufacturer. The project is promoted by the German Federal Ministry of the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMU), as part of its international climate initiative, following a decision by the German lower house. The line will produce extruded polystyrene foam (XPS) insulation slabs in different thicknesses using CO2. The background is the reduction of the use of environmentally harmful blowing agents, such as chlorofluorocarbons (CFC) or hydrochlorofluorocarbons (HCFC) In China, these blowing agents are still used for manufacturing XPS insulating slabs.
