Waters Corporation showcased its ACQUITY UltraPerformance LC (UPLC) system at the recently held 34th International Symposium on High-Performance Liquid Phase Separations and Related Techniques (HPLC 2009) in Dresden, Germany. Additionally, Waters published two new academic-quality books – 'The Quest for Ultra Performance in Liquid Chromatography: Origins of UPLC Technology' and 'UltraPerformance Liquid Chromatography: a Technology Primer' - both of which provide insight to this disruptive technology and document the overwhelming impact of ACQUITY UPLC on analytical chemistry.
"The introduction of the ACQUITY UPLC system in 2004 was more than an innovative product introduction, it spurred a revolution in high-performance liquid chromatography. ACQUITY UPLC inspired other major HPLC suppliers to develop similar systems that have changed the dynamics of liquid separation in the lab, especially in relation to mass spectrometry sample introduction," remarked Larry Schmid, president, Strategic Directions International&consultants to the analytical instrument industry.
