Cognis presents 'green' solutions for the water-based paints and coatings industry

TT_2 Cognis' Functional Products Strategic Business Unit has come up with new 'green' defoamers, highly efficient rheology modifiers, 'green' dispersing agents, and a natural oil-based coalescent for water-based coatings. The new 'green' defoamers are based on renewable raw materials and offer well-performing and eco-friendly alternative to mineral oil defoamers for a wide range of water-based architectural paints. In response to the demand for environmentally-sound products, Cognis has also developed a unique range of patented nonionic highly efficient associative thickeners for water-based coatings. Based on polyurethane derivatives these thickeners are completely free of hazardous solvents and heavy metals and are also VOC and odour free.
