An India-USA plastics industry summit will be held during Plastindia 2009. This summit will reflect on the growing economic partnership of the US and India by discussing bilateral trade opportunities and increased cooperation between their respective plastics industries. The one-day event will take place at Hotel Taj Palace in New Delhi on February 5, 2009, which is the second day of Plastindia.
The event has been organised by The Society of the Plastics Industry Inc (SPI), the Plastindia Foundation, and the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII). The planned sessions include an overview of Indian, US, and global plastics market trends; besides resources for a successful Indian-US partnership. It also includes a discussion of best practices for the US visa process; and a panel discussion featuring success stories of the US and Indian companies.
"The enormous prospects for industrial growth in India present US companies with opportunities for new business ventures and cooperation with the surging entrepreneurial sector in India. We expect that the India-US plastics summit will offer a frank discussion on the challenges and opportunities facing companies in both countries," said Neil Pratt, senior director - International Trade, SPI.
Pratt will represent the SPI at the summit along with William R Carteaux, president and CEO, SPI. Arvind Mehta, president, Plastindia Foundation, Carteaux and other industry officials, will deliver the opening addresses.
