GM sales make first increase in 21 months

General Motors Co. announced Wednesday its forecast for October sales made its first increase in 21 months.
To be released Nov. 3, GM expects its sales for this month will rise from a year earlier. Its four core brands, Chevrolet, Cadillac, Buick and GMC made about 95 percent of the company's sales.
Having emerged from bankruptcy court July 10, the automaker's sales dropped 45 percent last month and fell 36.4 percent in 2009.
