DETROIT, Sept 9 - General Motors Co Chief Financial Officer Ray Young is expected to leave the automaker as part of a shake-up of its finance operations, the Detroit News reported on Wednesday.
The newspaper cited unnamed sources familiar with the situation and said Young, 47, could leave the company in the coming weeks.
The newspaper said GM had already hired an executive search firm to find Young's replacement.
Young and GM representatives could not be immediately reached for comment.
The report of Young's departure comes during a two-day meeting of GM's 13-member board in Detroit.
The board, headed by former AT&T Inc Chief Executive Ed Whitacre, is also expected to weigh a decision on what to do with GM's money-losing European unit Opel.
