China's Chery Auto eyeing European brands - source
Published: 13 Feb 2009 01:14:18 PSTSHANGHAI, Feb 13 - Chinese car maker Chery Automobile has contacted several European auto brands, including Ford Motor's Volvo car brand, and is interested in an acquisition, a source with direct knowledge of the matter said on Friday.
"Chery has been in touch with several European auto brands, including Volvo," the source said.
"The company might be making some big moves in 2009," added the source, who declined to be identified due to the sensitivity of the matter.
Chery declined to comment.
