Feb. 8, 2010 (China Knowledge) - Beijing saw the value-added output of its high-tech, technology service and information service enterprises exceed RMB 280 billion in 2009 and account for 23.7% of the city's total, said Yan Aoshuang, director of the Science and Technology Commission of Beijing. Yan added that the achievements of the technology industry last year were important in the effort to counteract the global financial crisis and to maintain stable growth in Beijing's economy. In 2009, the city's value-added output in the technology service industry increased 16.4% to RMB 79.37 billion. That of the software and information service industry grew 14.5% year on year to RMB 110.75 billion. In Zhongguancun Science and Technology Park, Beijing, the high-tech industry realized RMB 1.26 trillion in total revenue last year, 23.7% more than in 2008. Beijing invested more than RMB 70 billion in research and development in technology industries last year, and technological contracts worth RMB 123.6 billion in total were signed, 20.4% more than in 2008.
