Feb. 8, 2010 (China Knowledge) - Quanta Computer Inc, the world's largest ODM notebook computer manufacturer, forecasts its revenue will reach NT$1 trillion this year, according to president Chen Ci Leung, as saying.

"The IT industry's growth is not bad," said Leung, "I believe we have the chance to hit the target."

Quanta realized revenue of NT$791.84 billion last year.

The Taiwanese company has signed an agreement with the Chongqing municipal government to set up a new plant in the city.

The new plant will be the Taiwanese company's third one in mainland China, and will be mainly producing laptops. However, the investment plan is still subject to the approval of Quanta's board of directors.

Quanta Computer is the world's second-largest laptop OEM in terms of shipment, following Compal Electronics Inc. It now has two plants in Jiangsu Province, according to an earlier report from China Knowledge.
