Chinese car and battery maker BYD Co. has  delivered the first batch of 100 electric vehicles e6 to Shenzhen Taxi Company Ltd., according to a Chinese website ifeng.

BYD e6 follows the design of crossovers or MPVs, with the front looking similar to the Honda Odyssey. It is a 5-seater pure electric car with an acceleration of 0 to 100 kph in 10 seconds. Its top speed is 160 kph, and the battery pack ET-Power located under the rear passenger seats is based on BYD's own lithium-ion iron phosphate technology.

Charging of the battery can be done overnight with 220V, but the BYD e6 can also have a fast charge that can recharge the battery to 50 percent in about 10 minutes. The half charge is good for about 125 miles.
