Electricity prices for non-residential use to be raised nationwide

The price of electricity for non-residential use will be raised by 0.028 yuan ($0.4 cents) per kilowatt hour on average nationwide starting from Friday, the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) announced Thursday.

The NDRC also disclosed that in the future, the price of electricity for residential use will be charged according to  the amount consumed, which means the more electricity used, the higher the price would be.
