Shanghai Disneyland Project gets State approval

The Shanghai municipal government announced Wednesday that the Shanghai Disneyland Project, which will be built in the Pudong New District has received State approval.

The government information office said talks on details of the project have started and the Shanghai Pudong New Area has started land expropriation work for the project.

According to the latest notice released by the government, this expropriation work involves an area of about 6,134 mu (about 4,089,435 square meters).

"The first-phase of the project will be in the South of Huanglou Area, an area in Chuansha Town, the southeast suburbs of Shanghai's Pudong area; and the second phase will be extended further southwest," said an unnamed urban development expert from Shanghai.

The removal work will begin from June next year.
