Nov. 3, 2009 (China Knowledge) - Evergreen Marine Corp, the fourth largest shipping company in the world, announced on Monday that its net loss in the first nine months of this year was NT$7.29 billion, compared with a net profit of NT$1.49 billion over the corresponding period of last year, according to Evergreen Marine's latest financial results. However, the company didn't provide details on the reason of the results, but said that the shipping industry was heavily hit by the weary global market. During the period from January to September, losses per share were NT$2.38, compared with earnings per share of NT$0.48 a year earlier. The firm said its revenue reached NT$53.27 billion in the first eight months of this year, down 27% from NT$72.89 a year earlier.
