In 2009, every 100 cars made in China had 178 problems, down 14 percent year-on-year, with a score of 258, compared with last year's 318. The gap in scores between domestically-made vehicles and international brand vehicles dropped to 116 from 396 in 2000. The lower the score mark, the smaller the frequency of failure for the vehicle.
