Oct. 30, 2009 (China Knowledge) - Hong Kong stocks rose on Friday morning, tracking gains on Wall Street overnight. The benchmark Hang Seng Index swelled 636.15 points or 2.99% to end the morning session at 21,901.14 points, with mainboard turnover standing at HK$42.6 billion. The Hang Seng China Enterprise Index, which tracks the overall performance of 43 Chinese mainland state-owned enterprises on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, swelled 451.91 points to 12,918.58 points. Market heavyweight HSBC Holdings Plc<0005><HBC>, which accounts for the largest weighting for the Hang Seng Index, rose 1.81% to HK$87.35. Meadville Holdings Ltd<3313> declined 11.15% to HK$2.47. Gold Peak Industries (Holdings) Ltd<0040> surged 29.17% to HK$1.24. Termbray Industries International<0093> soared 22.12% to HK$1.38. Stocks of auto firms ended mixed in the morning session. Denway Motors Ltd<0203> rose 0.53% to HK$3.82. Great Wall Motor Co Ltd<2333> swelled 7.24% to HK$8.74. Dongfeng Motor Group Co Ltd<0489> increased 5.25% to HK$9.42.
