BOC raises stake in China Botanic Dev't to 10.09%

Oct. 27, 2009 (China Knowledge) - Bank of China Ltd<601988><3988>, the country's fourth-biggest bank by assets, on Oct. 21 raised its shareholding in China Botanic Development Holdings Ltd<2349> to 10.09% from the previous 3.06%, according to the bourse operator Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing<0388>. HKEx said that BOC, together with several of its subsidiaries, bought 487 million shares of China Botanic Development. However, BOC did not disclose how much it spent on the deal. BOC now holds 699.35 million shares of China Botanic Development.
