Oct. 27, 2009 (China Knowledge) - China's copper concentrate imports totaled 561,997 tons in September, according to statistics released by the General Administration of Customs yesterday. The figure reflects 22% growth compared with imports in the same period of last year, and 6.2% growth from the 529,156 tons imported in August, said the GAC. In the first nine months of this year, the country's copper concentrate imports were 4.69 million tons, up 20% year on year. In September, China's refined copper imports were 282,828, up 152.11% year on year. In August, China imported 219,731 tons of refined copper, 152.08% more than last August. China's import and export value in September decreased 10.1% year on year to US$218.94 billion, comprising import value of US$103.01 billion and export value of US$115.93 billion, down 3.5% and 15.2% from a year earlier, respectively, according to an earlier report from China Knowledge.
