
Toyota Motor Corp. said on Octobor15 that its car sales in September in China rose 45 percent compared with the same period of last year, reaching a monthly high of 72,000 units.
Thanks to the Chinese government's stimulus policies, consumers' confidence inched up and the auto market showed a prosperous situation this year. New models also played an important roles in good sales, a spokesman of Toyota said.
The sales of Toyota had reached about 486,000 cars in China in the first three-quarters of 2009, up 13 percent year-on-year. Guangdong Toyota has raised its annual sales target of highlander from 20,000 units to 35,000 units.
The sales of Volkswagen in China and Hong Kong this year reached 1.06 million vehicles, an increase of 37 percent year-on-year while the sales of GM increased 55.6 percent to 1.29 million during the same period.
