Nissan’s 2010 X-Trail and Qashqai will be sold in the Chinese market from October 28. Auto industry insiders predict that these cars will be much cheaper as they are produced domestically using the continuously variable transmission (CVT) developed in China.
The JATCO (Guangzhou), is helping Nissan-DFM (Dongfeng Motor) to produce CVTs, which will be used in the displacement of 2.0 to 2.5-liters cars, such as the Qishqai and X-Trail.
All the Qashqai models are four-wheel drive vehicles, while X-Trail has three types:fire, inflamention and thunder, featuring the two-wheel drive CVT.
Experts forecast the three models of the X-trail will be the first to benefit from the domestically-produced CVT. The prices of the three X-trail vehicles are 177,800 yuan, 180,800 yuan, and 188,800 yuan.
