Oct. 16, 2009 (China Knowledge) - Chinese airlines have not canceled orders of Boeing Co's aircraft, a senior executive of the U.S.-based company said on Thursday, Reuters reported.

Airlines in China have adjusted aircraft deliveries as they cut costs to cope with weak demand, John W. Bruns, vice president for Boeing Commercial Airplanes, responsible for China operations, told reporters at a media forum.

Boeing, the world's leading aircraft maker, earlier said China's domestic carriers have decided to postpone deliveries of the new Boeing 787 Dreamliner, and the company may be able to deliver the aircraft by the end of next year.

China, the world's most dynamic aviation market, will need to spend US$390 billion to buy 3,700 new aircraft in the next 20 years, Boeing Commercial Airplanes' marketing vice president Randy Tinseth said in May.

Domestic airlines in China currently have 1,330 aircraft, and will see the number rise to 4,560 by 2027. Moreover, it is predicted that the annual growth rate of the aviation industry in China will hit 7.9%, exceeding the 5% growth rate in the global market, China Knowledge reported earlier.
