Oct. 16, 2009 (China Knowledge) - China's power use was up again in September, reaching 322.41 billion kWh, according to statistics released by the National Energy Administration yesterday. The figure reflects year-on-year growth of 10.24%, 2 percentage points more than that of August. The country's power consumption in the first three quarters of this year was 2.66 trillion kWh in total, up 1.4% compared with the corresponding period of last year. In the first nine months, primary industry consumed 72.5 billion kWh of power, 6.35% more than in the same period of last year. The power use of secondary industry during the same period climbed 1.67% year on year to 1.95 trillion kWh, while that of tertiary industry rose 11.26% from a year earlier to 293.5 billion kWh.
