Published: 13 Oct 2009 07:02:02 PST

A multimedia exhibition, Germany for Beginners, is being held at Beijing's Xicheng Library. Organized by the Goethe Institute and Federal Center for Political Education of Germany, the exhibition aims at introducing German history, culture and politics to people unfamiliar with the country.

The exhibition showcases the A-Z of Germany – from Arbeit (work) to Zukunft (future).

Display boxes, drawers and screens are embedded with three-dimensional images, highlighting the everyday items related to their themes.

In the F section for football, attendees can listen to football songs in German, learn the history of the German national football team via TV screens and see actual footballs, autographed T-shirts and referee whistles.

The exhibition was launched in Berlin on July 1. China is the fi rst stop of Germany for Beginners on its global tour. Following Beijing, the exhibition will head to Wuhan and Guangzhou.
