Perot Systems to acquire BearingPoint Management Consulting Shanghai

Oct. 13, 2009 (China Knowledge) - Technology service provider Perot Systems Corporation announced on Monday that it will acquire BearingPoint Management Consulting (Shanghai) Ltd.

The acquisition, which is still subject to the approval from the Chinese government and the U.S. Bankruptcy Court, will make the BearingPoint China Consulting operations part of the Perot Systems Commercial Solutions business unit.

"BearingPoint China Consulting is highly respected for its consultancy services, and we are pleased to add their complementary expertise to our existing global consulting services," said Peter Altabef, president and CEO of Perot Systems.

Last month, Dell Inc said it will acquire Perot Systems for US$3.9 billion in a bid to expand beyond its PC business.

The combination of Dell, Perot Systems, and BearingPoint China Consulting will significantly expand their reach and enhance their capabilities in China, according to Altabef.

BearingPoint China Consulting was established in 2001 and has clients in China's energy, automotive, insurance, and financial service industries.

No financial details of the deal were disclosed.
