Oct. 12, 2009 (China Knowledge) - Brandes Investment Partners, L.P, a global leading investment advisory firm, recently raised its shareholding in SmarTone Telecommunications Holdings Ltd<0315> to 7.05% from the previous 6.96%, according to the bourse operator Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing<0388>. Information from the HKEx showed that Brandes Investment on Oct. 7 bought 451,000 shares of SmarTone for HK$2.77 million. The average share price of the transaction was HK$6.15 apiece. SmarTone Telecommunications, a leading provider of mobile phone operator in Hong Kong, is a subsidiary of Sun Hung Kai Properties Ltd<0016>, the city's largest property developer by market value.
