China's top banking regulator said that the global financial crisis is not yet over.
Liu Mingkang, chairman of the China Banking Regulatory Commission, made the remark at a luncheon organized by the Hong Kong Association of Banks.
He also said China's GDP rose more than 8 percent in September, apparently in reference to the July-September quarter since the country does not publish monthly GDP data.
Figures for the third quarter are due to be issued October 22, and all economists polled to date expect annual growth of more than 8 percent.
