Oct. 9, 2009 (China Knowledge) - Chinese stocks opened higher on Friday morning, the first trading session after the eight-day National Day holiday. The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index, which covers both A shares and B shares on the Shanghai Stock Exchange, opened at 2,840.13 points, up 2.18% or 60.71 points from the previous closing.
