Baoji Oilfield Machinery Co (BOMCO) emerged as the winner of a 2.08 billion yuan ($304.5 million) contract to supply onshore oil rigs to UAE's National Drilling Company (NDC), BOMCO's parent company China National Petroleum Corp (CNPC) said Thursday.
According to the contract, BOMCO will design, manufacture and install 12 sets of oil rigs which can be quickly disassembled and moved between locations in the desert, CNPC said.
This was the first time NDC awarded its oil rigs contract to a Chinese company and it indicated the debut of Chinese equipment in the high-end Middle East market, CNPC said.
