Sep. 30, 2009 (China Knowledge) - Taiwan-based Lite-On Technology Corp launched its eastern China headquarters in Changzhou, Jiangsu Province, in a bid to expand into the green energy industry, sources reported. A total of US$600 million of investment will be poured into the regional headquarters, located in the Wujin High-tech Development Zone. Phase I of the project, which invovles investment of US$300 million and has a registered capital of US$110 million, becomes operational in July and mainly produces power supply products. With the planned LED products, the initial annual output value is expected to reach RMB 4 billion. Meanwhile, Lite-On Technology will also integrate its supply chain resources in Eastern China and improve its operational efficiencies. The regional headquarters will become Lite-On Technology's base for its green energy business, said Raymond Soong, chairman of Taiwanese company, adding that the firm will launch three green houses with thin film solar technology in Wujin.
