A photo exhibition titled "Cultural Heritage of Pakistan" by Chinese photographer Zhang Chaoyin kicked off at Beijing Poly Plaza on Monday morning. Masood Khan, Pakistani Ambassador to China, and Yang Wenchang, President of the Chinese People's Institute of Foreign Affairs, attended the opening ceremony.
"I've been to Pakistan five times, and I'm honored to have the opportunity to introduce Pakistan to the Chinese people," Zhang told Beijing Review.
Born in 1958 in Lanzhou, northwest China's Gansu Province, Zhang finished his master's degree in visual art in Australia and has served at the Beijing-based Ethnic Publishing House since 2000. On August 14, 2007, he was awarded the Tamgha-I-Quaid-I-Azam, a civil award conferred by the Pakistani Government.
The exhibition will last three days until September 30.
