Sep. 29, 2009 (China Knowledge) - Airbus SAS, the world's largest commercial plane maker, is strengthening cooperation with the Chinese aviation industry, said Laurence Barron, president of Airbus China, the official Xinhua News Agency reported. The company will expand cooperation with Chinese aircraft enterprises in many aspects, including R&D, installation and purchase of raw materials and spare parts, the president Saturday said at the closure of Beijng International Aviation Expo. Barron earlier said the company expects that the value of components and materials orders from China will hit US$200 million by 2010, and US$450 by 2015. This year, Airbus will deliver 80 aircraft to China, compared with 73 units last year. In August, China's civil air transportation continued recovering. The total air traffic turnover increased 7.4% month on month and 30.6% year on year. The passenger traffic turnover rose 7.6% month on month and 41.6% year on year, and the cargo traffic turnover grew 8.6% month on month and 18.1% year on year, according to statistics released by Civil Aviation Administration of China.
