Shangri-La offers special room rates for National Day in China

Sep. 16, 2009 (China Knowledge) - Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts, Asia Pacific's leading luxury hotel group, Tuesday announced that it will offer special room rates in mainland China, Hong Kong and Macau from Sept. 25 to Oct. 11 in celebration of China's 60th birthday.

The special rates, which include breakfast for up to two people, entitle guests staying for two consecutive nights at any Traders hotel or Shangri-La hotel or resort to a coupon for one free night. Guests can use the coupon at the same hotel on the same trip, or redeem it at any participating Shangri-La city hotel before Jan. 31, 2010, the company said in a statement.

In addition, guests who are members of Golden Circle, Shangri-La's loyalty program, will enjoy a complimentary room upgrade during the promotion, said the company.

Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts, parent of Hong Kong-listed luxury hotelier Shangri-La Asia<0069>, recently said it plans to double the number of its hotels in China within four years as the company is optimistic about the country's hospitality industry. It is targeting key second-tier cities, where tourism will increase in the coming years, and plans for about 60% of its hotels to be located in China, compared with the current 40%.
