Sep. 15, 2009 (China Knowledge) - The second China Manufacturing Summit Forum was held on Sep. 2 in Beijing Economic-Technological Development Area, or BDA.

The revitalization, innovation and upgrading of the manufacturing sector and the shipbuilding industry are the main issues discussed at the forum, which has attracted around 200 industry leaders.

BDA will strive to seize the opportunities brought by the central government's favorable policies for equipment manufacturing industry and establish a base for the R&D, production and application of new-energy equipment, said Zhang Boxu, director of BDA's management commission, at the forum.

Meanwhile, BDA will complete the construction of the proposed Beijing Digital Television Industry Park through resource integration. Construction began on Aug. 3 with the groundbreaking for the eighth-generation TFT-LCD production line of BOE Technology Group Co Ltd<000725><200725>.

Zhang also noted that the management commission will release additional favorable policies, including subsidies, to support the development of the equipment manufacturing industry in the area.
